The web ordering process was quick and easy. I didn’t have experience with Canadian shipping, but the postal program remained up to date on the tracking. The package was delivered to my UPS PMB without fail by USPS. The product is as amazing in photos as it is in person. It is exactly what I was researching and expecting. I was itching to get the kit installed and try it out. I knew that my feedback would be best served by waiting and trying the product. Great product, wonderful company. Would recommend again and again.
Within my research, both online and meeting other inline goalies over the past two years. I knew, once I purchased my new goalie leg pads, that the DCP Pro Series – Goalie Pad Sliders was going to be the best product for my installation plan, the surface that I play on majority of the time and my style of play.
Since I was applying this kit to new goalie leg pads. I wanted a less permanent but durable application. Choosing to clean with rubbing alcohol and install with 1.5” industrial velcro. The kit can now be moved around, removed and high-performance plastic sheets installed for ice. Very versatile. I was hyper focused on the toe parts of the kit and by utilizing a heat gun, slightly adding curvature but still applying the toe loops from maximum slide.
My first use was on four sheets of perforated sport court in my garage. I thought I was going to slide my groin out. I was so impressed. I spent the next month or so preparing for a three-day hockey tournament. That location had indoor sport court, and it wasn’t as slippery, but I could still effectively move quickly to butterfly, and single leg saves without fail and with controlled slides. The other goalies at the event took some time to photograph and understand the way I applied the sliders to my pads. Most of them either had other products currently on their pads or have tried them but were not impressed or had a few notable complaints. None of them tried DCP. This feedback only reassured me that I made the right decision.
Two semi-negatives for me specifically… The company is in Canada, and the product couldn’t get to me fast enough (like a kid waiting on a holiday) and I was worried the whole time the posted wouldn’t reach me. Lastly, if I could order a set without holes (maybe pre-designated drill points would be fine) to maintain strength in the slider pieces, especially the toe part.
I would recommend that inline goal tenders specifically evaluate the number of factors outlined above with their playing environment, conditions and their goal tending style before committing to anyone product.
These are one of the best set of sliders i've owned. I have tried 3 different brands and these stand out for a few reasons.
-They are very slick. On the slotted deck hockey tiles these fly. On the solid tiles they are still very slick. Even on concrete they slide very well.
-They are durable. They are far thicker than many of the other sliders on the market though they aren't that much heavier. They didn't show any wear after dozens of games on deck tile. Even on concrete they did not show significant wear like thinner plastics might.
-They are relatively easy to install. Any slider takes more time than you think it does to install but the plastic backers work really well. I suggest you use double sided take to figure out where you want them, mark them and then cut and screw. Although I will say they hold up very well with just some good 3m outdoor mounting tape if you clean the surface and use a clamp to hold them on.
-The triangular back plate is very helpful for the boot.
